Title Tag Pixel Width Checker

Type your title tag and see its estimated pixel width — a more accurate truncation check than counting characters alone.

Fits on desktop~0px / 580px

Google measures title width in pixels, not characters, and cuts off around 580px on desktop — estimated here using a 20px Arial rendering, which is close to (but not identical to) Google's own font metrics.

  1. 1Type your title tag.
  2. 2Check the estimated pixel width against the ~580px desktop limit.
  3. 3Shorten it if it's flagged as likely to be truncated.

Is my file uploaded?

No — the check happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API to measure text width.

FAQ

Why pixels instead of characters?
Characters like 'i' and 'w' take up very different amounts of space, so a character count alone is a rough guide — pixel width is closer to what Google actually measures.
